Key User Requirements:

All persons who intend to fly remote control aircraft at the 114th RC Aero Squadron flying field are required to be a current member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). A current AMA membership card must either be with the person flying remote control aircraft or on file with the 114 RC Aero Squadron. Proof of insurance meeting paragraph 11 would be acceptable in lieu of AMA membership.  This is a requirement of the Army Corp of Engineers, the Owners of the property from which 114th RC Aero Squadron leases the land for the flying field. (Excerpts from the Lease are included on the back of this sheet.)

Users must operate in accordance to AMA Safety Rules and club rules. These include but are are not limited to the 100dBA @ 3m noise limit, the flight line, the noise sensitive areas, the no-fly zone and the 400’ ceiling mandated by the FAA.

The 114th RC Aero Squadron participates in the AMA Intro Pilot program. This allows club instructors to train non-AMA members to fly airplanes during a time period of 30 consecutive days, and students are covered by the liability provisions of the AMA insurance policy. Full details are available from the Membership Department at AMA Headquarters.
