Field Information

Our primary flying field is located at Meadowmere Park in Grapevine, Texas, which we lease from the US Army Corps of Engineers.  Please read this entire page for field rules and emergency information.  Note the no-fly zones and noise-sensitive (only quiet electric flight) zones.  The Corps requires us to enforce these zones, so please observe them.  If you fly gas please make sure you have a quiet canister muffler.

All persons who intend to fly remote control aircraft at the 114th RC Aero Squadron flying field are required to be a current member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). A current AMA membership card must either be with the person flying remote control aircraft or on file with the 114 RC Aero Squadron.
This is a requirement of the Army Corp of Engineers, the Owners of the property from which 114th RC Aero Squadron leases the land for the flying field. (Excerpts from the lease are included on the back of this sheet.)

Pilots must adhere to other club rules including the 300’ ceiling mandated by the FAA.  Rules are posted at the field.
An intro-pilot program is available to all chartered clubs. Qualified pilots from chartered clubs (limited to three per club) may participate. Instructors can train non-AMA members to fly airplanes during a time period of 30 consecutive days, and students are covered by the liability provisions of the AMA insurance policy. Full details are available from the Membership Department at AMA Headquarters.

***One of our neighbors is Paradise Cove, a wedding chapel just down the road.  When they have weddings we observer a courtesy no-fly timeout.  See the calendar on the HOME page for details.
